Got two Gen8, with extra SDD, 16GB RAM, 4x1TB WD RED, 1230v2. The server that I tested this in uses rails for the 5.25” bay, so I had to find longer screws. Having replaced the original OS with WHS 2011 (I never even bothered to boot up the original OS) there are no utilities that might have come with the HP system. Following instructions I found on some forums, rebuilding the RAID array was not difficult.
